Saving energy can be achieved by using a motion sensor to detect a presence in a room or corridor. Normally, motion sensors are combined with switchable control gear. This type of system results in either 100% light or 100% darkness. Unfortunately, frequent switching of compact fluorescent lamps can reduce their life significantly.
The corridorFUNCTION is a much more refined solution. Instead of abrupt darkness the lighting system is dimmed after a period of time when no motion is sensed. This facility is perfect for rooms and corridors where there is no natural daylight as the function extends lamp life and saves energy.

The ADV products below offer the corridorFUNCTION combine with an integral PIR. The ADV3600 and ADV7400 also offer this option with integral emergency.
ADV products with this function are programmed to dim to 10% after 5 minutes of absence. If users require any other option this can be pre-programmed, including switch off after a further period of no motion.
Any number of motion sensors and luminaires can be connected in parallel so long corridors can be covered.
